Welcome to Saturday!

Today's Goals:

S - Searching for new ways to accomplish tasks
can help remove the burden of boredom
when it comes to repetitious jobs.
(Like cleaning the darn house.)

A - Accepting that some things
are just not as important as we thought
gives us permission to let go
and enjoy what really matters.
(Like spending fun time with family
versus making sure the floor boards are spotless
or the stove burners sparkle.)

T - Treasuring the moments we have
with our children while they are still young
is a wonderful way to build memories.
Sit down with them on the floor,
 blow bubbles, play with playdoh,
and laugh at silly jokes.

U - Understanding that perfection is out of reach
and does not need to be on the short list of weekend goals
will free us to experience other adventures.

R - Remembering what it was like when we were children
can provide the insights necessary
to embrace our own children's need
 for activities and parent time.

D - Directing a few planned moments or surprises
can enhance the moods and family bonding.
(A movie, trip to the park, or a special meal
we create together are a few ideas.)

A - Admitting that we need some scheduled alone time
to replenish our reserves of patience and inner peace
is an important component toward improving our relationships.
When we are worn out and feel
 that we cannot give anymore,
everyone feels it.
It's okay to take a few moments for yourself.

Y - YES does not have to be a first response.
If saying yes makes your heart race, your stomach churn,
and your head ache, then it's a sign
you need to consider more "NO" responses
and measure what energy you are able to offer.

Wishing all of you a week of adventures, solutions to your challenges, and answers to your prayers.

Hope your week has gone well so far! Happy Weekend to You!

Kindest Wishes,
Mary

About Me

My photo

I have over 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Development Birth-Age 5 including work in classrooms and as an Infant/Toddler Program Manager.  I have several writing projects in progress including a resource book for parents of infants and infant room teachers in a full day child development (school) program.  The book will provide families with information about what to expect and how to monitor their child's progress in an Infant room.  My second book project involves how to cope with family challenges, lessons in forgiveness, dealing with a spouse's addiction, and reinventing yourself along the way.  I am excited about all of these projects and am currently accepting comments regarding experiences my readers have had placing their child into a full day child care program.  I would also like to hear from Infant room teachers.
