Thankful for...

1. Family and Friends (Sometimes there's no difference.)
I am grateful to immediate family and to the
friends who are family in my heart.

2. The children who continue to challenge the heck
out of me and push me out of my comfort zone.

3. The awesome professional resources I trust to
advise me regarding the physical, emotional, social,
and spiritual components of parenting my children.
They are my "Team" and I appreciate their insights.

4. The ability to share, collaborate, and process
the many aspects of my life as a writer and parent
with some incredibly talented, inspired, and creative
writers, parents, and other professionals.

As our Thanksgiving 2017 begins to wind down,
and the dishes from the last load
in the dishwasher are put away,
I'd like to thank everyone who has taken a moment to...

1. Read a post, tweet, or article.

2. Write a comment or compliment.

3. Like, follow, or share something you've read.

4. Offer encouragement and inspiration.

This writer mom acknowledges all who contribute to my
inspiration, my sanity, and my interest in learning more
about the individuals with whom I share life's adventures.

Sometimes the adventures keep me close to home,
and sometimes those adventures provide insights far away;
but the best part of any adventure or journey includes
expanding your knowledge base.

Each day is an opportunity to become
a better individual with an appreciation for
those who are less fortunate, disenfranchised, and in need
of a resource for which they have yet to discover.

Please consider what resource you can contribute, whether
it is a skill, talent, or donation. I'd love to learn
how you share your gifts with your community.
We each have opportunities to either
enhance our interactions with others or
create discord. How will we celebrate and
contribute as 2017 comes to a close?

please contact me so I can properly give credit and/or remove

I wanted to convey and I apologize for not knowing their sources.

Wishing all of you a week of adventures,
solutions to your challenges, and
 answers to your prayers.

Kindest Wishes,

Sunday, November 19, 2017

Welcome to Sunday!

Today's Goals:

S - Savoring these moments of peace
allows us time to
reorganize our thoughts,
prioritize our goals,
and replenish our strength
before the start of a new week.

U - Uplifting others who are
experiencing life's challenges
is a great way to boost your spirit.

N - Nourishing our body, mind, and soul
provides us with the energy we need
to help ourselves and help others.
Self Care is not "selfish."
Self Care is "self-filled."

(Thanks to: Eric Attard, LPC, Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor,
Doctoral Candidate, for insights regarding selfish versus self-filled.)
D - Defining our goals for the week
begins with a short list.
Find one thing each day to focus on
and write it down.
A - Avoiding the things that prevent
successful completion of our daily goals
is another real challenge.
Every time you do something
instead of your main goal, stop!
Remind yourself,
"This is another avoidance issue for me.
Why am I doing this?"
Y - YOU can stay on track by:
1.  Keeping your goals short and simple.
2. Giving yourself permission to get things done,
even if it's not perfect.
3. Stop doing activities that get in the way
of your success.

Wishing all of you another week of adventures,
solutions to your challenges,
and answers to your prayers.

Saturday, November 18, 2017

Welcome to Saturday!

Today's Goals:

S - Searching for new ways to accomplish tasks
can help remove the burden of boredom
when it comes to repetitious jobs.
(Like cleaning the darn house.)

A - Accepting that some things
are just not as important as we thought
gives us permission to let go
and enjoy what really matters.
(Like spending fun time with family
versus making sure the floor boards are spotless
or the stove burners sparkle.)

T - Treasuring the moments we have
with our children while they are still young
is a wonderful way to build memories.
Sit down with them on the floor,
 blow bubbles, play with playdoh,
and laugh at silly jokes.

U - Understanding that perfection is out of reach
and does not need to be on the short list of weekend goals
will free us to experience other adventures.

R - Remembering what it was like when we were children
can provide the insights necessary
to embrace our own children's need
 for activities and parent time.

D - Directing a few planned moments or surprises
can enhance the moods and family bonding.
(A movie, trip to the park, or a special meal
we create together are a few ideas.)

A - Admitting that we need some scheduled alone time
to replenish our reserves of patience and inner peace
is an important component toward improving our relationships.
When we are worn out and feel
 that we cannot give anymore,
everyone feels it.
It's okay to take a few moments for yourself.

Y - YES does not have to be a first response.
If saying yes makes your heart race, your stomach churn,
and your head ache, then it's a sign
you need to consider more "NO" responses
and measure what energy you are able to offer.

Wishing all of you a week of adventures, solutions to your challenges, and answers to your prayers.

Hope your week has gone well so far! Happy Weekend to You!

Friday, November 17, 2017

Welcome to Friday!

Today's Goals:

F - Find the place that helps you feel at peace
 and calms your spirit.
It doesn't have to be a physical location.
It can be something you think about
as your close your eyes and meditate.

R - Recognize your strengths, value, and contributions.
It's okay to receive a compliment
and accept it graciously.

I - Invite others to share their insights and resources.
Sharing inspirations is a great way
to push us toward our goals.

D - Decide what is and what is not important
to the big picture.
 Let go of the things
 that prevent forward motion.

A - Admit mistakes and apologize for oversights.
It doesn't make you less of a person for being wrong.
We can't be perfect 100% of the time.

Y - Young people have a lot to offer
if we'd take a few moments
to stop what we are doing
and really listen to their perspectives.

Wishing all of you a week of adventures, solutions to your challenges, and answers to your prayers.

Hope your week has gone well so far! Happy Weekend to You!

Welcome to Thursday!

Today's Goals:

T - Thinking about our options and opportunities
can provide moments of clarity
when we need to make important decisions.

H - Hearing the entire story, listening to the context of messages,
and processing information in a non-judgmental way
 can improve our communication skills.

U - Uniting with individuals who can collaborate on projects,
understand our purpose,
and support our efforts
takes time and energy.
But it is worth the work when we see results.

R - Remembering those who have paved the way
for the advancement of a cause
and acknowledging their sacrifices
inspires us to continue their legacy
 and achieve new goals.

S - Surrendering the fears, anxieties, and insecurities
that hold us back can be a huge challenge.
Self awareness paves the way
toward developing new, more efficient, and healthier
coping skills that will propel us toward
solutions to our dilemmas.

D - Developing contacts,
who can support our goals in a reciprocal way,
provides the insights you need
to move forward with our plans.

A - Addressing the road blocks
hat prevent our forward motion
will help us to stop making excuses.

Y - Yielding some of our control issues
is not a sign of failure,
but an act of strength
that we see the need to let go
of the things that no longer serve a purpose.

Wishing all of you a week of adventures, solutions to your challenges, and answers to your prayers.

Kindest Wishes,

Wednesday, November 15, 2017

Welcome to Wednesday!

Today's Goals:

W - Writing helps me process the emotions and events
that have an impact on my day. I encourage you to try this too.

E - Encouraging my children to do their best
and see the best in others is an on going act of love.

D - Developing new ideas and concepts for my
writing and advocacy blog gives me purpose
and inspires me to continue.

N - Noticing the talents and skills of the people
with whom I come into contact
increases my ability to effectively collaborate.

E - Everyone has something to offer.
Take the time to consider their insights.

S - Sharing resources opens up new possibilities
and enhances the experiences we encounter each day.

D - Doing something about the issues and concerns of our time
is important, worthwhile, and necessary.
Speak up, have a voice, and find ways
to express yourself in a variety of ways.

A - Arguing is not necessarily the best form of expression
when attempting to convey a message.
Sometimes people simply need to vent.
Listen first then figure out how to
respectfully and calmly state your case.

Y - YOU are the only one who can figure out what inspires
 and motivates you toward success.
Gravitate toward the people and things
that will help you feel accomplished and successful.

Wishing all of you a week of adventures, solutions to your challenges, and answers to your prayers.

Today's Goals:

T - Thanking You for sharing your day here with
World of Writer Mom.

U - Understanding another person's perspective
can enhance a relationship.

systems allows us to better appreciate each other and
speak with greater accuracy versus stereotyping.

S - Soul searching leads to self awareness so our biases and
prejudices come to light.

D - Dedicating ourselves to being kind, empathetic, and non-
judgemental can alleviate the pain of others and heal the
personal pain we carry within our hearts.

A - Advocating for our rights and for the rights of those who
ask for our input elevates our experiences. We are
here to make a difference and learn from each other.

Y - Yearning for ways to become the best possible soul while
having our human experience here on earth can inspire
us to make changes, motivate us toward new accomplish-
ments, and encourage us to follow through on our dreams.

About Me

My photo

I have over 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Development Birth-Age 5 including work in classrooms and as an Infant/Toddler Program Manager.  I have several writing projects in progress including a resource book for parents of infants and infant room teachers in a full day child development (school) program.  The book will provide families with information about what to expect and how to monitor their child's progress in an Infant room.  My second book project involves how to cope with family challenges, lessons in forgiveness, dealing with a spouse's addiction, and reinventing yourself along the way.  I am excited about all of these projects and am currently accepting comments regarding experiences my readers have had placing their child into a full day child care program.  I would also like to hear from Infant room teachers.
